- Archer Queen and Mortis will be permanently removed from Squad Busters starting Tuesday, April 29.
- One should merge as many of these characters before the removal to avoid losing them without compensation.
- The characters are being removed in their current forms, hinting at possible new versions returning in future updates.
Supercell’s Squad Busters is heading towards an update that will see two popular Epic characters, Archer Queen and Mortis, being permanently removed. Starting Tuesday, April 29, 2025, both characters will be taken out of the game in their current form.
Compensation for the removals will be provided in the Squad Busters May 2025 update
Once removed, Archer Queen and Mortis will no longer appear in chests, shop offers, or player lineups in Squad Busters. Hence, you are asked to merge as many Archer Queens and Mortises as possible before the deadline.
There won’t be any compensation for any unmerged versions left over after the removal, so it’s important to act quickly. However, when the May update rolls out, there will be some rewards to soften the blow.
You’ll receive compensation based on the highest evolution level you reached for these characters, and that progress will transfer to a random Squaddie at the same level. For example, an Ultimate Archer Queen will get you a random Ultimate Squaddie, and so on.
Additionally, a new currency will be introduced in May to support your progression. This new system will consider the value of Babies being converted, helping to balance out the randomness in the Squaddie replacements.
Plus, if you owned any skins for Archer Queen or Mortis, you’ll be compensated with Style Tickets. I know it is tough to lose a strong Attacker and an all-rounder, but there are no explanations on why this decision was taken.

Something to wonder here is that these two are being removed only in their “current forms”. So does this leave the door open for both characters to possibly return in alternate versions in future updates? Can’t guess. While no official details have been shared yet, let us wait.
