Zetian excels at overwhelming enemies with her burst AOE magic damage attacks, while finishing them up with her powerful Global ultimate ability, making her an overwhelming force in team fights. In this guide, we will look at the best emblem, spell, and build, including tips and tricks to pave your way to victory with the new hero, Zetian, in Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB).

Skill Analysis

Passive: Celestial Armament

  • Phoenix Crown: When Zetian hits enemy heroes with Phoenix Strike or Phoenix Descent, she gains 1% Spell Vamp for 5s, stacking up to 10 times.
  • Celestial Robe: The power of the Phoenix periodically protects Zetian, knocking back and stunning any enemy hero who approaches her while dealing Magic Damage to them. She also gains a Shield that lasts 3s. This effect has a 120s cooldown.

First Skill: Phoenix Strike

Zetian unleashes a Phoenix Wave in the target direction. If it hits an enemy, she automatically casts another wave, up to 3 times. While casting, Zetian can use other skills. The three Phoenix Waves deal Magic damage to all enemies hit.

The third Phoenix Wave hits a larger area and pulls enemies towards the skill direction (not considered a Control effect). This Skill only has 65% Spell Vamp efficiency against Minions.

Second Skill: Phoenix Descent

Zetian summons a Phoenix Spirit at the target location, dealing Magic Damage and applying a brief 50% slow effect to enemies in the area. The Phoenix Spirit hovers at the location for 3s, dealing Magic Damage every 0.5 seconds and reducing enemies’ Magic Defense by 10% while revealing their surrounding area.

While the Phoenix Spirit is active, Zetian can use this skill again to command it to charge towards a designated location, dealing Magic damage and applying a brief 50% slow effect upon arrival.

Third Skill: Fury of the Phoenix

Zetian calls upon her divine mandate and the hearts of her people, granting all allied heroes 40% Movement Speed that gradually decays over 3s, while bringing divine retribution upon all enemy heroes, dealing Magic damage and stunning them for 0.8s. Zetian gains a vision of all enemy heroes during this time.

She can also cast other skills while channeling this skill.

Skill-up method for Zetian

While using Zetian as a mage and mid laner, unlock and prioritize her Skill 1, then follow up by upgrading her Skill 2, and her Ultimate ability whenever available.

It is highly advisable to go midlane with Zetian; therefore, the Mage Emblem is highly recommended due to its attack perks. The following are the most suitable talents to equip during emblem setup:

  • In the First Tier Talent, pick Rupture as it grants bonus Magic Penetration for Zetian.
  • In the Second Tier Talent, pick Magic Shop as it reduces the costs of equipment to 90% of their normal price. This will allow Zetian to farm and easily scale through early on.
  • In the Third Tier Talent, pick Lethal Ignition as it scorches enemies after being hit by Zetian’s burst abilities, like her ultimate and first skill.

Battle Spells

  • While using Zetian, you should equip the Flameshot spell, as it provides an extra source of damage when faced with enemies.
  • Flicker is another advisable Spell to use, as it allows you to reposition easily.

Best Equipment Build for Zetian in Mobile Legends

Zetian’s equipment build provides Cooldown Reduction, burst damage potential, and sustain, allowing her to efficiently protect her allies and disrupt enemy formations throughout the game. Below is the best equipment build to use with Zetian:

  • Arcane Boots: Provides movement speed and Magic penetration needed to burst down enemies on the battlefield.
  • Enchanted Talisman: This item boosts Mana Regen while granting lots of Cooldown Reduction, allowing Zetian to spam her abilities across the battlefield.
  • Lightning Truncheon: Enhances magic damage attacks, making them hit harder. This item will further enhance the burst damage of Zetian’s ultimate ability.

  • Blood Wings: This item not only grants extra Magic power, but it also increases Zetian’s survivability by granting her a Shield.
  • Divine Glaive: Provides lots of Magic penetration, allowing you to burst down even the tankiest of enemies.

Mobile Legends Zetian Build Guide Gameplay Tips

Zetian is a versatile mage with skill sets that provide for her sustained damage, area control, and powerful teamfight presence. Coupled with her powerful ultimate ability, Zetian can easily burst down and stun all enemy targets wherever they are on the battlefield.

According to her gameplay, we can break it down into three phases. Nonetheless, a player must have a good understanding of the map to bring the best out of any hero. This Mobile Legends (MLBB) Zetian guide includes the perfect game plan for the early, mid, and late gameplay of Zetian.

Early Game

Due to her burst damage capabilities, Zetian is best played as a mid laner. Therefore, in the early game, Zetian’s main focus is to farm, to rotate across lanes to maintain solid map pressure. Start by unlocking Zetian’s Phoenix Strike (Skill 1) to poke enemies and clear minions effectively in the lane.

Maximize her First skill by making sure it hits an enemy unit; doing so will automatically trigger the extra Phoenix Wave. Due to the skill’s wide hit range, you can effectively use it to poke surrounding enemy heroes.

Zetian’s Skill 2 can be used to zone and slow down enemies. Combine it with her second skill to deal even more damage to surrounding enemies, since their Magic defense stats will be reduced significantly. While playing Zetian, you can use this skill combo to get the best out of her in the early game:

Skill 2 + Skill 1 + Skill 2 (again)

Mid Game

Zetian becomes a capable mage with powerful zoning and teamfight control prowess. While gaming, begin with Phoenix Descent to reveal and slow enemies in key bushes. Follow it up with Phoenix Strike for sustained AoE magic damage and stack Spell Vamp quickly.

Use your Ultimate, Fury of the Phoenix, to peel or finish up, granting team-wide movement and stunning enemies for follow-ups. Time your shield from the Celestial Robe during aggressive fights. Zetian’s ultimate ability can be very useful, as it grants vision while hitting all the enemy heroes on the battlefield, which is quite similar to Yin Sun-Shin’s ultimate ability before he was revamped. That being said, her ultimate can be used as a team fight initiator, a Kill-Secured ability, or a Kill-assist ability.

Regardless of which it is, Zetian’s mid-gameplay allows her to have a more controlling presence on the battlefield, especially during core team fights and Turtle contests. Also, remember to maximize your passive Shield to bait melee enemies into attacking you. Once the enemies have been stunned, follow up with your burst attack combo to finish them.

Late Game

In the late game, Zetian excels at turning fights. Therefore, utilize your Ultimate ability to initiate decisive teamfights, revealing all enemies and disrupting their ganking potential. Follow up immediately with her Second and First skills to dish out maximum AOE damage.

After building all or the majority of her items, her First skill cooldown will be very low, allowing her to stack Spell Vamp and sustain through extended team fights. Prioritize staying alive while continually zoning enemies in key areas. You should also ensure to coordinate well with your roamer; a good and successful initiation can be a game-changer.
