Honor of Kings is going through its biggest update yet, a bold new era, by transforming into Honor of Kings Plus. Launching tomorrow, ie, June 24, this massive change brings game-changing improvements, from more rewards to personalizing your hero, designed to make your gaming experience even better. All driven by player feedback, it’s time to dive into and discover why I am so excited about this update, and you should be too.
Changes coming with the Honor of Kings Plus Update
Introducing Flowborn, HoK’s first fully customizable hero
Leading the charge is Flowborn, the first customizable hero avatar in Honor of Kings’ history. Flowborn is not just a hero but your representation on the battlefield. You get to customize their appearance, from skin tone to outfits, and even create your 2D poster with nameplates, stickers, and backgrounds.
Flowborn adapts in combat too, switching appearances mid-match and using weapons and skills effective across multiple lanes. Attribute buffs are now selectable during the match, giving you control like never before. The Marksman version of Flowborn arrives on June 24, with Tank and Mage versions set to follow in July.
Receive Star Rewards even in Defeats
One of the most exciting updates is how personal performance now counts toward progression. Whether you win or lose, your standout moments are rewarded. Did you pull off a highground tower break and a crystal push by yourself? You will jump straight to an SSS rating. Carry your team? You can earn bonus stars.
Even if your team loses, you can still gain stars if your performance stood out. The global version now features a more transparent rating system than the Chinese client, providing players with a clearer view of the value of their efforts.
Say More, with Real-Time Voice Translation
Communication just got a serious upgrade. Real-time voice-to-text transcription and translation are being added for supported languages: Chinese, English, Indonesian, and Malay. This means smoother team coordination and easier ways to make new friends during the match, do remember to be nice. The devs are already looking into expanding language support in future updates.
Honor of Kings Plus brings an improved Gameplay battlefield
From lane pressure to jungle pacing, many core mechanics have been refined. Mid lane now spawns four minions instead of three. The Central River Sprite is removed to improve flow. River Sprites and Space Sprites have been rebalanced, and Red Falcon’s spawn timing, skills, and rewards have also been adjusted.
Super minions have had their strength tuned down for better late-game balance. Teleport is now a permanent Summoner Skill, complete with new visuals. You can also enjoy new Bounty Missions that offer gold and rewards for eliminating high-value targets during a match.
Revamping the Honor Pass with better rewards
The Honor Pass system has been completely overhauled. Now, missions, highlight moments, and campaign completions all feed into your pass progression. The first Honor Pass under this system is themed around the KWC.
By just reaching level 1, you will earn the Nuwa – Syzygy Moonlight skin, and if you grind to level 80, the Alessio EWC skin is yours too. Even better, everyone gets a free Elite Pass just for updating the game. Upgrading to the Deluxe version gets you an extra 398 tokens for future Honor Passes.
Get Free Skins and try out others for free for a limited time
This update is not holding back when it comes to rewards. Starting June 19, completing tasks can earn you a special coupon for the upcoming Dimensional Blast Day on June 28. This 1688-Token Coupon can be redeemed for almost any skin released before January 1, 2025, with just one exception.
It’s fully usable on single-skin purchases and doesn’t require a minimum spend. From June 28 to June 30, every skin released before June 24 will also be available for free use for a limited time. That includes all limited and legendary skins, giving you a rare opportunity to test out high-tier cosmetics without spending a dime.
