Garena has announced the shutdown of its turn-based RPG, Black Clover M: Rise of The Wizard King, set for August 21, 2025, globally and a day earlier in Japan on August 20, 2025.
First revealed during Jump Fest 2022, the game originally launched back in December 2023, after a CBT in November 2022, with pre-download available in Japan and South Korea by May 2023, and soft launch in Canada in August 2023.
Black Clover M: Rise of the Wizard King is shutting down due to the devs’ current operational challenges
For those unfamiliar, Black Clover M: Rise of the Wizard King is a turn-based adventure RPG based on the popular Black Clover, the anime and manga series by Yūki Tabata. This title lets you relive the original story, summon your favorite characters, and build a squad in your quest to become the Wizard King.
Unfortunately, Black Clover M Team announced that the game would officially shut down on August 21, 2025, globally, stating, “In light of the current operational situation, we have decided to end the service as the best decision.” The devs and team held multiple discussions to improve the service.
You can look forward to the final update, arriving on June 26, bringing content inspired by the animated movie, Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, along with a special event and two important mages joining the game.
Use any remaining items until EOS, and request a transfer of unused premium Black Crystals
Following the announcement, they have disabled purchases and new account creation. However, you can still use any items you’ve already obtained until the game officially shuts down in Japan on August 20, and globally on August 21, 2025.
There’s good news if you’ve leftover Premium Black Crystals, as you’ll be able to request a transfer of those to a designated Garena mobile title via the Customer Service support page between August 21 and September 25, 2025. You can check their official website for more details on this.
It’s sad to see another gacha title based on a beloved IP end this early, considering many fans loved it. That said, some are complaining it is due to a lack of new content, repetitive events, and poor rewards and currency, while few are hoping for a proper Black Clover RPG shortly.
