All you need to know about the Clash Royale June 2025 update
New Game Mode: Merge Tactics
Well, after a long wait for us to get Clash Mini in the form of a Clash Royale mini game this Summer 2025 update, it turns out that it isn’t exactly the same.

Merge Tactics is Clash Royale’s first turn-based game mode, combining survival gameplay with merge mechanics. Unlocking at Arena 3, it’s a 4-player free-for-all where you summon two of the same troops to merge them into a stronger unit. Troops are placed on a board, and elixir is used to summon and upgrade units.
Matches feature Traits, random modifiers that change each match, and you choose a Ruler beforehand, which grants passive bonuses. There’s no need to build a deck though since all troops are generated during the match, and the goal is just to outlast your opponent.
Trophy Road and Ranked Mode Overhaul
Trophy Road now extends to 10,000 trophies, and a new Arena called Valkalla unlocks at 9,000 trophies. The Legendary Arena shifts to 9,500 trophies. After 10,000, you enter Seasonal Arenas, which rotate every season and offer unique rewards and Seasonal Badges for progress.

Path of Legends is now renamed to Ranked, and access is unlocked either by reaching 15,000 trophies on Trophy Road or hitting Master I in Ranked during the previous season. From August onward, access will require reaching Champion League.
The early leagues have been shortened to make the climb quicker. Trophy resets beyond 15,000 trophies will now be partial, so progress feels more stable between seasons. This change was necessary following the Mastery Gem Rewards update to make sure the Gems are earned via trophy pushes.
Rewards Distribution and Chest Changes
The way rewards are given out in Clash Royale has been changed. Elite Wild Cards are now spread out across different modes. You can still get 25,000 from Ranked, but 10,000 have been moved to Seasonal Arenas and 15,000 can now be earned through Events.
Gold rewards in Ranked have been reduced from 75,000 to 25,000. The rest of the Gold is now available through Seasonal Arenas. This allows you to earn Gold by climbing through different parts of the game. Card Mastery rewards will be as mentioned previously.

Chests have also been updated to make rewards clearer. Giant Chests now give more Gold and a mix of Epic, Legendary, and Champion cards, but no longer include Wild Cards. Magical Chests offer more total cards and Gold but fewer rare cards.
Lightning Chests now give nearly double the Gold and cards than before, allowing you to re-roll some of the cards using the Strike feature. Wild Cards have also been removed from this chest. However, Battle Rewards will now only give Gold as bonus rewards.
Season 73 updates: Spirit Empress and Skeleton Barrel Evolution
The update introduces the Spirit Empress, a unique 6-Elixir Legendary card, once rumoured to be a Champion Card. If you play her with 3 Elixir, she appears as a melee unit dealing strong single-target damage. If you wait for 6 Elixir, she rides into battle on a dragon, dealing heavy aerial damage from above.

A new Evolution has been added for the Skeleton Barrel. When this evolved version takes damage, it drops the first barrel and continues forward with a second one. This allows it to spawn two waves of Skeletons. Season 73 will be arriving in the game on July 7, 2025.
Other Additional Updates
Badges and UI changes are part of the update. Badges have received a visual update with clearer rarities and categories. Seasonal and Yearly Badges are now easier to spot, and older badges are still visible but grouped under new categories.
The Events Tab has been removed. All challenges and events are now accessed directly from the Game Mode Switcher. This update aims to make jumping into different modes easier and more flexible. The team will rotate and test various event types based on community feedback.
