Gameplay Overview
Let’s start with the gameplay overview of Crystal of Atlan to give you a clear idea of how the game works, including its game modes and other features. Right from the prologue, the game lets you play as characters from each available class to get an idea, and each has a unique skillset and style.
You then step into a stunning, fantastical world where magic and technology coexist, playing as a free-spirited adventurer. After selecting your preferred class, the game begins with a cinematic cutscene, leading into the first chapter, Witch of Decay.

This chapter also doubles as a tutorial, giving you a proper introduction to the core mechanics and introducing key characters in the storyline. As you progress and level up, you’ll get to switch to a subclass based on your main class, for free, which is a nice addition, unlike other titles.
One of the amazing features in this title is that you’re allowed to create up to six characters, so you can freely explore all the available classes. Even better, as you level up, more slots unlock, and each time a new class is added to the game, you’ll get an extra character slot to try it out.
Crystal of Atlan Basics
Classes
As I mentioned earlier, the game gives you a variety of classes to choose from, each with its sub-classes. Each has a different combat style and skillset, and you can also unlock various skills as you progress. With the global launch, the currently available classes are as follows:

- Swordman: Berserker and Magiblade.
- Fighter: Cloudstrider and Starbreaker.
- Musketeer: Gunner and Bounty Hunter.
- Magister: Warlock, Magister, and Elementalist.
- Puppeteer: Scytheguard and Blade Maiden.
Energy System
The game also includes a dual energy system, Character Energy and Account Energy.
- Character Energy is tied to each character on your account. When you deplete it, you need to use Account Energy to earn the rewards.
- While Account Energy is your total energy limit, shared by all the characters for the day. Once you hit the cap on that, you won’t be able to earn Adventure rewards for the time being.
That said, it unlocks after at least one of your characters reaches level 60. You can even increase your energy using Batteries.
Game modes
While coming to game modes, there’s no shortage in this game. It includes Adventure, which is the core story mode, where each chapter is split into stages. Then there is Co-op Battles, which lets you team up with other players to take down bosses and clear challenging dungeons together.

For competitive players, you can explore Ranked, can jump into 1v1 or 3v3 battles to test out your skills against other players. Plus, the good thing is, it is also fair, not ruining your fun. There is also a Challenge Mode if you want more. You can clear various dungeons like the Abyss, Void, and more via these modes.
Events

The game also has an Event section, where you can find a variety of events, like New Voyage, Journey with Friends, and 7-Day Gifts, with more to come in the future. You can obtain various useful resources by taking part in these events, such as Gold, Outfits, Rare Trinket Box, Pets, Armor Voucher, and more.
Tasks
Similar to other RPG titles, you can complete various objectives across Daily, Weekly, and Seasonal Tasks in this game. You can obtain valuable rewards by completing all the tasks and use them to enhance your characters.
Summon

While the gacha system is present in this game, it isn’t the same as the others, as here you can currently only summon Outfits and Pets. That said, it is equally important, as Pets grant buffs like cooldown reduction and damage boost, and Outfits enhance your stats and overall style.
Shop

The game also features an in-game Shop, which includes various Packs, Items, Summon, Outfit, Top-Up, and more. Here, you can purchase Opal, which is the game, which are the premium currency of the game. Plus, you can get a Daily Benefits Pack for free, which includes Revival Capsules and other items.

1. Clear Adventure Mode’s Normal Stages

Adventure is the main mode for your progression during the early part. You should focus on clearing the required Normal Stages in each Chapter to unlock the more challenging Elite Stages, which also offer better rewards. While the difficulty increases, do the benefits, so make sure to clear them.
2. Try out all the Classes

Before settling on your main Class, you should go ahead and try out all the available classes and their subclasses to get a proper idea. Each of them has a unique play style and skill set, so I believe it’s worth experimenting to find out what suits your desired play style.

While enjoying the gameplay, make sure to pay attention to your Character Energy and Account Energy. Once one of your heroes reaches the required level, you can no longer ignore the Energy System. After Lv15, your unused Character Energy is converted to Reserve Energy the next day.
While the Reserve Energy cap is 70 with a 50% conversion rate, after you reach lv60, it increases to 140 with a 100% conversion rate. You can take advantage of it, and you can consume it to clear advantage stages, as you receive 1 extra stage reward if you clear the stage.
4. Complete the main quests
While completing all the events and achievements, also focus on completing the main quests in Adventure mode. You gain a lot of stuff by completing them, from experience, gear, and various other rewards. You can use these completion rewards to further enhance your character.
5. Focus on upgrading and equipping the best Skills

As you progress in the game, your character will unlock more and more skills, and there are a variety of skills for each class and subclass. So, don’t go on upgrading every skill you have, and focus on a few core skills that you think are useful, and customize your skillset based on them.
