- Google has rolled out the Instant Games app, bringing a library of HTML5 games.
- Support for offline play through a dedicated Available Offline section is also available.
Google has officially launched the Instant Games app, offering a collection of lightweight HTML5 (H5) games that can be played instantly without downloading. This new app is designed to provide quick and easy access to fun games directly on your Android device.
Instant Games makes Om Nom Run, Banana Run, and Chess Classic available at launch
Although the details from the storefront are minimal, there seems to be a good selection of games already. Inside the app, you’ll find popular titles like Stack Bounce, Om Nom Run, Banana Run, Chess Classic, Billiards Classic, and Cannon Balls 3D.
The layout looks clean and user-friendly, with sections like “Continue Playing” and filters for categories such as Puzzle, Multiplayer, and Favourites. Something that caught my attention was “Available Offline”, which means we can play offline games too.

With this launch, Google’s new platform seems to be perfect for some quick entertainment. Previously, YouTube had rolled out its online gaming catalogue called Playables, while Uber also was reported to be testing a similar feature last year, although nothing significant was spotted since.
Currently, the launch seems to be across many regions, including the US, the SEA regions, Latin America, and the MENA regions. You can check out Instant Games on the Google Play Store to check and download the app and try the H5 games for yourself.

With Apple also launching the Games app this Fall, mobile gaming looks to be exciting as ever, in fact, super exciting. A quick way of accessing games is always something one would enjoy, and hence, this initiative will surely help in the long run to keep the small screen fun intact.
