As per the esports roadmap for 2025, Honor of Kings is now on the verge of commencing a new esports event. The Honor of Kings KPL Growth League (KGL) Summer 2025 is set to kick off this June.
The second division league tournament of the game is in its 11th season. However, the defending champion team is not participating in the event. TiMi Studios and Hero Esports are jointly organizing the event. It will take place in three venues across China.
Honor of Kings KGL Summer 2025: Schedule and Format
The event is ready to kick off on the 16th of June 2025. This stage will run till the 24th of August 2025. It will follow a double round-robin format where matches will be BO5. The top 8 teams will advance to the Playoffs.
The top 4 will meet in the Upper Bracket while the 5th-8th will fight in the Lower Bracket. The bottom four teams will be eliminated. The Playoffs will begin on the 1st of September 2025. In a double-elimination bracket, all the matches will be BO7.
The top 4 teams will play in the upper bracket while the lower 4 teams will compete in the lower bracket. After the end of the second stage, the Grand Finals will take place on the 13th of September, 2025. The two finalists will compete in BO7 finals, and the winner will claim the trophy.

The number of participating teams for the event is 12. Now, these teams are from the promotion league and Spring 2025. Though this is a second-tier league, the teams are super competitive and have little difference in power in front of the global powerhouses. Prize Pool
The event will share a total of ¥3,000,000 (almost $420,000) for the teams. The share of each team depends on their ranking after the end of the event. Besides, the top 3 teams will advance to the King Pro League Spring 2026 and Challengers Cup 2025. Now, the prize pool breakdown is as follows:

Being a China-exclusive event, the matches will be streamed on Chinese social media platforms like Weibo. But the event is taking place offline, so fans can witness it live as well. The league is going to entertain fans all over the world for sure.
