The Mimic Octopus in Grow a Garden is a new Mythical rarity pet added during the Summer update. It needs a special egg to hatch from and has a very low hatch chance. However, if you’re lucky to get this pet, its ability is going to help boost your garden by quite a bit. Here’s everything you need to know about this animal.
How to Get the Mimic Octopus in Grow a Garden
The Mimic Octopus hatches from the Paradise egg, which can be obtained from the Pet Eggs shop. It has a 7% chance to appear, so if you see it, make sure to buy it right away. What makes this creature very rare is its hatch chance, which is merely 1% and since it’s a limited-time pet, you will need to keep shelling out 50,000,000 Sheckles for better chances.
Visually, the pet has a purple color with different shades, and yellow/black eyes with a cute little smile. But what’s more impressive is its passive ability.
What does the Mimic Octopus do?
The Mimic Octopus is true to its name: its ability is called Mimicry and every 20 minutes, it mimics and copies an ability from another pet. It will perform this ability which means you get twice the reward. This becomes even more useful if the other pet on your garden has two passives. For instance, the Queen Bee has two abilities – every 20 minutes a nearby fruit gets the Pollinated mutation and the pet with the highest cooldown refreshes its ability. This means, the Mimic Octopus will perform two abilities as well.
Another example is the Mole which digs down underground and finds treasure for you (gear or Sheckles) and the Mimic Octopus in Grow a Garden will do this as well.
