When this Pokémon uses a move, its movement speed increases for a short time. Similarly, when Latios is nearby, this Pokémon’s movement speed increases. When Latios is on the same team as this Pokémon, this Pokémon can fly to Latios. This ability can only be used when the Pokémon is not in combat. This ability goes on cooldown after it’s triggered.
Ability 1 – Confusion
Has the user released a weak telekinetic force in the designated direction, dealing damage and applying a slowing effect to opposing Pokémon it hits.

Has the user released a mist-like flurry of down in the designated direction. After a set amount of time passes, or if the move is used again, the flurry of down bursts creates a zone of mist. Opposing Pokémon in the zone take damage, receive a slowing effect, and are marked. Marked opposing Pokémon deal decreased damage. If either Latias or Latios hits marked Pokémon with basic attacks, the duration those Pokémon remain marked increases. | Has the user rally the designated ally Pokémon, granting itself and that Pokémon a shield. If the rallied ally Pokémon is Latios, movement speed is also increased. The rallied ally Pokémon’s next attack deals additional damage. This move can be used again to rally a second designated ally Pokémon. If this second usage rallies the same ally Pokémon as the first, the user also flies to that Pokémon and rallies itself. |

This move has the user generate a beam in the designated direction, dealing damage to opposing Pokémon it hits and restoring the user’s HP. Pokémon Unite Latias Gameplay Tips
Our Pokémon Unite Latias Guide will now discuss how to play and achieve a perfect game plan for the Pokémon across the game. The following division has two sections of the early and late game, which players must make sure to read till the end.
Early Game
Since Latias doesn’t evolve, it is pretty much strong right from the start. In terms of laning, players could either go Top or Bottom Lane to assist the allied attacker in laning. Early on, you should focus on farming to level up Latias to further unlock new, powerful combos.

It is best to prioritise and upgrade Swift as it deals lots of damage while allowing you to farm efficiently early on. Whereas, Confusion enhances your offensive ability by slowing enemies hit by the ability. Both abilities can be really powerful when combined.
Prioritise helping your allied laner to farm efficiently and take down early epic Pokémon like the Rotom as soon as possible. This would help them level up as fast as possible, take down enemy Pokémon, and score goals needed to seal the win for your team. When paired with allies like its twin, Latios, they can be a powerful combo powerhouse on the battlefield.
Late Game
To excel more in the arena while using Latias, it is advisable to unlock and use the following build path. Mist Ball and Dragon Breath, as these abilities provide damage and a debuff to opposing Pokémon in the area.

However, Dragon Cheer and Dragon Pulse combo can be a useful pick, as it allows Latias to assist and support allies’ Pokémon more effectively, while being a bit aggressive as well. So, do choose according to your preferred game plan. Latias’ Unite move can also be very useful during the Zapdos fight to kill and steal, as it can help him burst down the enemy target he locks onto.
Positioning of Latias
The best path for Latias would be the top or bottom Lane. Players should prioritise assisting allied laners to farm Aipoms and Audinos to level up efficiently. The cluster of Combees and Vespiqueen should be hunted down as much as possible to allow for increased exp and easy level-up. The offensive capabilities of Latias are best paired with an allied speedster/attacker.
Latias with other Pokémon
Our Pokémon Unite Latias guide will also talk about the relationship between Latias and other Pokémon.
Best synergies with Latias
Latias is best paired with an attacker/speedster Pokémon, as it can easily bring out the best of its offensive capabilities.
Pokémon | Benefits |
---|---|
Latios | This is the perfect ally for Latias, as both Pokémon can enhance their damage output when paired together. |
Snorlax | It would provide extra crowd control and disables for Latias and his team during core team fights. |
Ceruledge | Its burst damage attacks will hit even more, especially when combined with the buffs Latias’ Dragon Cheer provides. |
Pokémon that are strong and weak against Latias
Pokémon that Latias counters | Pokémon that counter Latias |
---|---|
Igglytuff | Zoroark |
Blissey | Talonflame |
Hoopa | Mimikyu |
Mr. Mime | Zeraora |
Cramorant | Slowbro |
Final Thoughts
Players must keep all the valuable points in mind while playing with Latias. It is indeed a gifted offensive support Pokémon that would change the tide of the battle with its powerful attacks.
