SNK INTERACTIVE CO., LTD. has announced to launch of their sword-fighting action RPG, SAMURAI SHODOWN R, on both Android and iOS on July 9. The original Samurai Shodown first launched in March 2022 as part of the ACA NEOGEO series. The open beta test is now live.

SAMURAI SHODOWN R is a sword-fighting action RPG that brings the classic arcade experience back with fast-paced combat and cool combos that go beyond the original. It’s based on the legendary Samurai Shodown series, which first debuted as a fighting title in 1993.
In this game, you’ll get to take part in intense, high-stakes duels where timing and powerful strikes are very crucial. What makes it more exciting for me is the return of fan-favorite characters like Haohmaru, Nakoruru, and Ukyo. Plus, each of them comes with unique fighting styles and special moves.
Battle against other players, take on daily challenges, and more
With the OBT now available, you can dive into the game and engage in real-time battles against players from around the world. If that’s not enough, there are also other Challenge modes offering daily challenges for you to hone your skills. I’m surely giving it a try once I get a break.
However, if you’re not a fan of blockchain and NFTs, certain features like the LumiWave Pass, Mount NFTs may not appeal to you. Even so, the game looks promising. It is free-to-play, unlike SAMURAI SHODOWN ACA NEOGEO, and offers iconic characters, simple controls, various modes, and more.
SAMURAI SHODOWN R is set to launch on both Android and iOS on July 9. The open beta test is now live, and you can now download the game via your respective Google Play Store, App Store, and Huawei AppGallery.
