Snapbreak has now opened pre-registration for their musical adventure title, Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley, on both Android and iOS. Developed by Norway-based indie studio Hyper Games, the game was first announced in November 2023 and was initially slated for a Q1 2024 launch.

Snufkin: Melody of Moominvalley is a beautifully made, story-driven adventure set in the whimsical world of Moomins, created by Tove Jansson. You’ll play as Snufkin, on a mission to restore the peace of Moominvalley by helping its quirky residents and putting a stop to the Park Keeper’s plans.
I’m looking forward to playing as Snufkin, roaming the valley with his harmonica, and making friends with music, while also pulling down signs, distracting police officers, and knocking over odd statues to restore nature and the residents’ homes.

That said, there are over unique characters you can meet, each with their own personalities, depth, and complexity. Along the way, you can explore the cozy locations of Moominvalley, solve various musical and environmental puzzles, and enjoy its stealth and melodic elements.
I must say, the game perfectly captures the magic of Moomin stories, a beloved part of Finnish culture. Moreover, with its stunning storybook art style, a mix of open-world exploration, puzzles, and musical gameplay, and soundtrack by Icelandic post-rock band Sigur Rós, the game surely shows promise.
