While the Queen bee NPC is located at the center of the map and provides access to the Honey shop, there’s another Queen bee in Grow a Garden, which can be added to your plot as a pet. Here’s everything you need to know about this pet, its rarity, hatch chance, passive, and whether it’s worth having it or not.
What is the Queen Bee Pet in Grow a Garden?
The Queen Bee is a Divine-tier pet introduced during the Bizzy Bee Event on May 31, 2025. It can be obtained by hatching a Bee Egg, with a 1% hatch chance. Since it’s so rare, it has become a highly sought-after pet, especially for its passives.
Visually, the Queen Bee resembles the standard Bee pet but is larger in size. It has a cute pink blush on its face, a crown on top of its head, and a smiling mouth.
What does the Queen Bee do?
It has two passive traits:
- Pollination Effect: Approximately every 25 minutes, the Queen Bee causes a nearby fruit to become magically pollinated, applying the Pollinated mutation. This will be useful after the Bee Swarm event ends because you can still get Pollinated crops, making your harvested fruit rare. It gives your crops a x3 value boost.
- Pet Cooldown Refresh: Roughly every 30 minutes, the Queen Bee refreshes the cooldown of a random pet, allowing it to use its abilities again sooner. So, if you have valuable pets on your garden, this ability will come in very handy.
There are some visual effects associated with this pet too. When it is held, the Queen Bee’s crown occasionally emits a sparkling effect similar to the celestial mutation.
The Queen Bee has a hunger capacity of 65,000 and managing this hunger level is essential to maintain its effectiveness in the garden.
Is it worth it?
Using the Queen Bee’s pollination ability will increase the value of nearby fruits through the Pollinated mutation. If your garden is packed with high-value crops, this pet adds yet another way to increase the selling price, especially when the fruits have multiple stacked mutations. Overall, the Queen Bee is worth it and falls in the same tier as the Dragonfly, Red Giant Any, Mole, Giant Any and Praying Mantis.
