Clash Royale is all set to arrive with a brand new Champion card with the Spirit Empress. Although this announcement is not official, it is almost confirmed that this new Dragon/Rider type will be debuting as the 9th Champion Card.
Leaked previews reveal two versions of the Spirit Empress card in Clash Royale
So, as per leaks and content creator previews, Clash Royale is gearing up to unveil a new Champion card for Season 73, known as the Spirit Empress. Several content creators have received “New Card Preview” teaser boxes featuring one of the two versions.
According to the same, the Spirit Empress appears in two distinct versions. One is a ground troop costing 3 Elixir, and another is mounted on a Spirit Dragon, acting as an aerial unit that costs 6 Elixir. From the design, it does look to be the Dragon to is the bigger troop here.
Both versions share the same name and character design, sparking speculation that the card may switch forms during battle or be tied to its special ability as a Champion. Well, nothing is currently official, and it is hard to say because no gameplay video has been made official.
This is surprising news given that Clash Royale only recently added the Boss Bandit as a Champion in the Season 70 ‘Tale of Thieves’ April 2025 Update. Usually, one Champion card would be something normal, but two within three months is surely a surprise.
For now, just the rumours. This is going to be official for sure, but for gameplay snippets, we need to see the visuals coming out. Until then, stay tuned in this space.
