Honkai: Star Rail Blade Build Guide Best Relics, Light Cone, Team Comps, and more

The Version 3.4 update of Honkai: Star Rail has buffed up a previous 5-star character Blade. He is a Wind character following the Path of Destruction. This Honkai: Star Rail Blade Build Guide will help you get the most out of his new changes of kit by offering a detailed breakdown of his gameplay and recommending the best configurations to optimize Blade’s performance.

Blade Kit Breakdown

Blade’s rework has made him significantly stronger and far more consistent. To start, all of his scaling is now fully HP-based, removing the awkward ATK-scaling leftovers from his old kit.

Enhanced Basic Attack

His Enhanced Basic Attack got a big boost, going from 180% to 234% HP scaling across three targets.

Skill

His Skill also got a crucial upgrade. Now, while in Hellscape, Blade gains massive aggro, which solves the long-time issue of enemies ignoring him. He’ll now consistently get hit, build stacks faster, and fire off his powerful follow-ups much more often, especially useful in Pure Fiction, where waves keep spawning.

Ultimate

His Ultimate saw a huge buff too, going from 342% to 486% total HP scaling. And even his follow-up attacks got bumped, going from 110% to 130% HP scaling. So across the board, Blade just hits a lot harder now.

Passives

Ascension 2 His new A2 ensures that whenever he uses his Ultimate, his HP loss is instantly set to 50%, guaranteeing stronger ults without needing to wait.
Ascension 4 His new A4 (previously his old A2) gives 20% healing received permanently, and 25% of all healing now contributes to his HP loss tally, which means he synergizes better with healers and has an easier time maxing out his Ultimate damage.
Ascension 6 Unchanged

Lastly, his follow-up attacks now give 15 more Energy, bringing it to 25 Energy per follow-up, which is huge. Combined with his aggro buffs and frequent follow-ups, this means Blade will be cycling Ultimates far more often, leading to a loop of high damage, tanking, and burst.

Honkai Star Rail Blade Best Relics and Planar Ornaments

Blade’s build hasn’t drastically changed with the rework, but there are a few key updates, especially in Planar choices and how his stat priorities now better reflect his fully HP-scaling kit.

In terms of stat goals, aim for 7000+ HP at minimum. For speed, stick to the standard 135 SPD or base speed setups unless your team lets you go slower. And for CRIT stats, try to hit 100% CRIT Rate in combat (factoring in buffs), and 150–170% CRIT DMG pre-combat. This balance keeps his enhanced basics, Ultimates, and follow-ups hitting hard while making the most of his improved HP scaling.

  • Body: Crit DMG
  • Feet: SPD/HP%
  • Planar Spear: DMG%/HP%
  • Link Rope: HP%

Relic Set

Longevous Disciple Longevous Disciple remains his best 4-piece set since it directly scales with his HP and synergizes with his damage output.
Scholar Lost in Erudition/Longevous Disciple If you’re not up for farming it, 2-piece combos like HP% + HP%, or HP% + Wind DMG%, are still solid and not far behind in terms of performance.

Planar Ornaments

Bone Collection’s Serene Demesne This set has become his new best-in-slot option. It pairs well with a Healer’s planar set, which is handy since Blade benefits from healing thanks to his new trace that converts healing into Ultimate power.
Inert Salsotto/Rutilant Arena Still great alternatives, since Blade deals balanced damage across basics, Ultimates, and follow-ups.

Honkai Star Rail Blade Best Light Cone

The Unreachable Side (Blade 5* Light Cone) Blade’s signature Light Cone is still his best-in-slot at E0, especially in peak, controlled conditions. It gives him CRIT Rate, extra damage to basic and talent attacks, and boosts his survivability, making it a perfect all-around fit.
Flame of Blood, Blaze My Path (5*) Mydei’s Light Cone has become a strong contender, and in longer fights, it can even outperform his signature. While it lacks CRIT Rate and doesn’t buff his basics or talent directly, it boosts HP, increases Ultimate and Skill damage, and causes extra HP loss whenever he uses his skill or ult. That extra HP loss gives him additional talent stacks, leading to more follow-ups, and in extended battles, those add up fast.

It’s not worth pulling to replace his sig, but if you don’t have his signature, Mydei’s cone is easily the next best option.

A Secret Vow (4*) This remains usable F2P or general pick, but doesn’t synergize nearly as well with Blade’s now fully HP-scaling, buff-looped kit.
Ninja Record: Sound Hunt (4*) This remains usable F2P or general pick, but doesn’t synergize nearly as well with Blade’s now fully HP-scaling, buff-looped kit.
Flames Afar (4*) This remains usable F2P or general pick, but doesn’t synergize nearly as well with Blade’s now fully HP-scaling, buff-looped kit.

Best Team Comps for Blade in Honkai Star Rail

Blade’s team comps didn’t drastically change with his buffs, but the synergy he has with top-tier supports has only gotten stronger and more rewarding, especially with his smoother energy cycle and reliable follow-up spam.

Blade, Sunday/Bronya, Tribbie/Cipher, Hyacine/Huohuo

In a hypercarry setup, your ideal core is Blade + a buffer + a debuffer/support + a healer. For buffers, Sunday is his absolute best. Sunday’s double action and massive CRIT buffs make Blade cycle ultimates almost non-stop, especially now with his increased energy generation. But Bronya is still a fantastic pick too, especially if she’s E2. She lets Blade run HP boots for more max HP without sacrificing turn speed. Plus, Bronya’s Wind typing is perfect if you’re using Silver Wolf, because Blade can stay in the middle slots and still benefit from Wind weakness implant.

Speaking of Silver Wolf, she’s now incredibly reliable for implanting off-element weaknesses, which is huge for Blade. Her single-target skill helps focus down bosses, and her massive damage amplification from DEF shred + RES reduction boosts his overall output, especially in tough fights.

Tribbie and Cipher are also great additions. They don’t have deep synergy with Blade specifically, but they offer excellent team-wide damage amps. Tribbie is more AoE focused, while Cipher gives you stronger single-target burst, which is perfect if you’re up against tough bosses or in Apocalyptic Shadow.

Ruan Mei is another strong, flexible pick who brings toughness damage, buffs, and cycle control, very helpful in any content, and especially in modes with high toughness bars.

Finally, your healer slot can make or break Blade’s performance. Hyacine is his best healer, she boosts HP, increases follow-up frequency, and even contributes strong damage. Her synergy with Blade’s HP-scaling and follow-up kit is unmatched. But other healers still work well. Huohuo helps the team cycle ultimates more smoothly, Luocha and Gallagher provide strong, consistent healing.

Is Blade worth pulling in HSR

Blade is absolutely worth pulling in Honkai: Star Rail, especially after his 3.4 rework. His damage scaling is now fully HP-based, his aggro issues are fixed, and his entire kit loops into itself with smooth energy generation, follow-up attacks, and strong synergy with many top-tier supports. Whether you need a flexible main DPS, a reliable Pure Fiction carry, or a stylish, self-sustaining bruiser, Blade delivers solid performance across all game modes, and he only gets better with investment.
