I, Slime Gameplay Overview

At its core, I, Slime is an idle RPG, which means your slime is a hard-working fellow that keeps fighting and collecting loot even when you’re offline. The main gameplay revolves around a loop that sees your slime fighting wave after wave of enemies, and clearing stages, whilst earning loot and levelling up.

The more stages your slime clears, the stronger the enemies, but that also comes with better rewards. As you clear stages, you unlock more game features like pets, special skills, special gear, and more. This gradual progression gives I, Slime both depth and a relaxed approach to your growth.

Quest System

Quests are the backbone of early game progression, so treat them like your best friend when starting in this game. They are your main source of amassing XP and game currency, but also new features like gear upgrades, skill slots, and more. Quests are broken into Main Quests, Daily Quests, and milestone achievements. Well, break them down further:

  • Main Quests: These quests progress the story and unlock game features.
  • Daily Quests: These are a small token for consistent players, so make sure to log in daily to get them.
  • Milestone Achievements: Reward long-term progression.

Every completed quest pushes your slime forward in power and helps you understand the game better, so try to complete them. Completing them is not only fun but also very rewarding. Focus on them, and you’ll have your slime blasting through stages in no time.

Town management

If you thought the surprises were over, then we’re here to inform you of how wrong you are. In I, Slime, your hardworking little slime has his small town, which you unlock after completing the required stages. This town generates resources for you, like alchemy points, gold, and meat for your chest, crafting resources, and more.

Alchemy Research

The best part about unlocking the town-building feature is undoubtedly Alchemy, as this is one of the most powerful systems in the game. It allows you to spend alchemy points on researching projects that give you a major stat boost in your health, attack, and defence, ultimately creating a super powerful slime.

And it doesn’t end there. Alchemy research also gives your cute pets more attack power, making the whole gang stronger. Make use of this feature to the fullest, and you’ll feel the difference across every dungeon and boss fight.

Skills

In I, Slime, your slime has access to a variety of skills you will gradually unlock as you progress. There’s a total of five skill slots that can be equipped with active and passive skills of different types, each with its unique ability and buffs. Your slime’s skills can be upgraded using in-game resources and combined to best fit your preferred playstyle.

Gear and Stats

In I, Slime, your gear isn’t just for appearances and flair; it’s a massive power boost. This stylish feature is crucial for surviving waves of enemies, dungeon runs, boss fights, and more. Each piece of equipment gives your slime a vital stat boost like HP, ATK, DEF, and bonus effects.

Don’t let the higher rarity status fool you, cause they don’t always mean better performance, especially if the stats don’t complement your current build or class. Focus on ATK and HP bonuses from the get-go, and as you progress, gear with special effects or bonuses will come into play.

Chest System

The chest is your primary method of acquiring new gear, a very important part of the game. You would need to feed the chest meat, in what seems to be a trade by batter, and the chest spits out new gear. Meat for the chest can be acquired through quests, dungeon runs, and idle rewards.

Once you unlock the Auto Chest feature, the chest will open automatically in the background, and you can set your gear preferences to give you what gear best suits your needs and current level. While this makes the whole thing easier, you can turn it off anytime if you prefer to do it the old-fashioned way.

Mastering the Pets

Pets

Your adorable companions aren’t just there to be cute mascots; they’re powerful allies that can greatly improve your slime’s performance. Each of your gooey companions comes with a unique attribute, like bonus damage, healing, passive buffs, or special effects that trigger during combat.

Completing quests helps you unlock your first pet early on, and as you level up, you’ll be able to collect more pets, upgrade them, and even equip multiple pets at once. So choose wisely and upgrade your pets regularly, cause your tiny crew can make all the difference in every battle.

I, Slime Beginners Guide: Tips and Tricks

With the I, Slime Beginners Guide, we can list down some useful tips I came up with while playing the game extensively. These tips will be really useful irrespective of whether you are an amateur or a pro player.

1. Go Hard on Quests

When starting in I, Slime, the best thing to do is to prioritise quest completion. This will help you unlock important game features and earn powerful gear faster.

2. Right Gear for the Job

Don’t let the cool designs and name confuse you, the important thing here is the stats these gears pass off. So don’t focus on rarity, and instead prioritise good stats from gear that fits your build.

3. Keep levelling up your Pets

Also, don’t forget your little companions are upgradable too. So, make sure to upgrade them regularly for added firepower and more benefits.

4. Use Auto Chest Settings

With so many things going on at once, forgetting to open your chest regularly can become a normal problem, but not to worry, cause there’s a fix for that. You can use the Auto Chest Settings to automatically open the chest, set preferred gear, and even its rarity. So, make sure to set it up and ensure your slime always has the best gear.

5. Experiment With Skills

In I, Slime, there are a variety of different skills that can be accessed, and each skill comes with a unique passive and active ability. So make sure to try different skills and setups to find out what works best for your playstyle.

6. Make sure to complete Dungeon Challenges

Another sure-fire tip is to complete dungeon challenges. Each completed challenge gives your slime a boost, including completing quests, stronger gear drops, and resources. So always make sure your gear is perfect for that dungeon, and if you lose, go back and farm more EXP and gear before attempting a dungeon again.

7. Keep Logging in Daily

This goes without saying, but make sure to log in daily. Even if just for a few minutes, you’ll be given valuable idle rewards and be able to claim daily rewards consistently. But most importantly, your little slime buddy will appreciate you checking up on him.

Final Thoughts

I, Slime is a charming and surprisingly deep idle RPG. From its colourful visuals and satisfying idle gameplay to its engaging gear, pet, and skill systems, there’s always something new to explore or upgrade. With the tips and strategies shared in this I, Slime Beginners guide, you’ll go from a soft little blob to a slime overlord in no time.
