Tower of God: Great Journey, the idle RPG from the house of NGELGAMES has announced shut down of the title. Following a run of two years, the game will officially come to a close on August 20, 2025 globally, including Japan and Korea regions as well.
The shutdown was announced due to a forced change in the partner service environment
Shared via social media and in-game notice by GM Headon, the message confirmed that despite efforts to keep the game running, internal and external challenges have led to the difficult decision to shut down the title.
According to the notice, the game’s development and publishing team had been in extended discussions with their partners to explore options for keeping the game operational. However, a forced change in the service environment by their current partner made it impossible to maintain service continuity.
As a result, the team concluded that the game could no longer be continued under current conditions. In terms of refunds, the announcement clarified that the development team cannot process refunds directly, so you are advised to reach out directly to your respective app stores for any refund or cancellation requests.
Speaking about the game, Tower of God: Great Journey is a mobile adaptation of the popular webtoon Tower of God, offering character-based idle RPG gameplay. Following its premiere in 2022, the game had pre-registrations in the West, followed by release on February 14, 2023.

Following its shut down, the Tower of God: Great Journey will no longer be playable after August 20, 2025. But Tower of God fans can still play the game Tower Of God: New World from Netmarble, which will soon be celebrating its second anniversary in July.
